In the morning, if need be, staff will be asked to assist school aged children onto the bus going to school, ensuring they are safely on the bus. Afterschool care begins at 2:50 where staff will be asked to meet the children coming off of the bus outside the front of the daycare, where they will go around the back of the daycare, into the downstairs classrooms where the program is held. Snack is then provided for the children, which the staff memeber will assist handing out, and cleaning up afterwards. Children are then able to free play, or more preferably have an activity set out to engage them in while they are in our care until being picked up. Closing time is 5:30, Staff are required to supervise the children, communicate with the families, and ensure the space/environment is safe, clean, and respected by all. An outdoor area is available for the group to use, no children should be left unsupervised unless they are going to use the washroom inside the classroom. Outdoor time is expected to be a part of the afternoon planning, weather permitting.
