10 Reasons to Choose Quality Early Learning and Child Care

Expert knowledge Early childhood educators are experts in child development and are trained to create inspiring learning environments!
Intentionality Early childhood educators provide your child the gift of time and attention. They will stop and explore the new flowers or jump in the mud puddles with your child.
Young at heart Early childhood educators know how to have fun! They’re not afraid to be silly and laugh with your child; all while nurturing your child’s creativity and helping to build their self-confidence.
Setting limits Every child needs reasonable boundaries, such as no playing ball inside. Early childhood educators set limits and support families in doing the same.
Love of literacy Early childhood educators read and tell stories, sing songs, and do puppet shows to inspire a love of language and to build early literacy skills.

Confidence boost Early childhood educators provide safe opportunities for your child to be independent and to become confident in their personality and decision making skills.
Inspired learning Early childhood educators ask open-ended questions to inspire creative thought and curiosity, to encourage children to explore, and to make learning fun.
Life skills Early childhood educators use their expertise to develop programs that use play as a tool for teaching math, literacy, science and essential life skills that last for life!
Making friends Early childhood educators are educated to appropriately support children to gain social skills, which are so important in making friends and developing positive relationships!
Helping hand Everyone gets stumped by parenting from time to time - juggling schedules, demands, and behaviours. When it gets tough and you need someone to talk to, reach out to your child’s early childhood educator!

Prioritizing Mental Health and Wellbeing in ELCC: Leadership and Team Member Wellness Planning

Will is back by popular demand, and this time we're diving deeper! Directors and Supervisors we have an exciting opportunity tailed just for your needs!

Is this the year to start prioritizing mental health and wellbeing?

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic educator burnout rates are at an all time high, sometimes as high as 60%. As a result many educators and leaders are leaving the profession to pursue less stressful careers.

To interrupt this burnout cycle, both reactive and proactive action is essential for childcare centers, not only to survive, but to thrive!

This will be achieved by signing up to 4 unique mental health and wellbeing group coaching sessions (March 5th, March 28th, May 16th, & June 27th). In each of your four sessions you will:

  1. Create a mental health and wellbeing plan with action steps for yourself as a leader as well as your team members.
  2. Set a 3 month SMART goal based on your 2025 plan for yourself and your team members to accomplish over the 3 months.
  3. Problem solve as a leadership group the challenges and solutions to overcome any barriers you may face along the way.
  4. Deep dive into each of the 4 steps of the mental health and wellbeing planning system over the workshop series (clear direction, action, when, evaluation).
  5. Learn 4 essential daily wellness habits to implement into your personal/team wellness plan (breathing, mobility, posture, meditation).

Facilitator Biography:

Will Fuller is a Licensed Naturotherapist (ACNN) on PEI and a Wellness Educator specializing in Functional Movement Therapy and Postural Re-education. Originally from the UK, his degree in Sports Science with a Post-Graduate certificate in Physical Education lead him to teach a wide range of sports and functional abilities subjects throughout England, Kenya and Kuwait, prior to transitioning full-time into the health and wellness field.

In 2010, he relocated to California to enroll in a physical rehabilitation training program founded by Dr. Meir Schneider at the School for Self Healing in San Francisco, that combined in- depth knowledge of the human body with movement patterns and self-care techniques. His wellness certifications prepared him to combine multiple approaches to manual therapy, the Graston Technique, along with holistic principles to achieve effective body tension release and positive functional alignment.

William's worked as a wellness practitioner at the Sports and Recreation Center at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) before joining the Chiro-Medical Group which brought together experienced professionals from a variety of disciplines (including physiotherapy, chiropractic care, medicine, nutritional therapy, soft tissue mobilization and more) to deliver a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to health and wellness care. During the recent pandemic, Will and his wife made the decision to relocate home to PEI to be closer to their family.

A reminder as this is a free session, ECDA has a payment policy for this-- Failure to attend will result in a $20 Admin fee being applied to your account, and you must pay this prior to attending any future free sessions. This policy has been implemented due to many no-shows at events. We value our facilitators and their time, and we often have to cap session capacity so not showing up for an event impacts others who may have wanted to attend.
